The Al Shami Association, headed by Mr. Najib Al Shami, in cooperation with the Mazareeb and Aarasta Club and the Municipality of Al Ghabat, organized a sports activity in Modern Pentathlon – Laser Run – under the supervision of the Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation, in the courtyards of St. Michael Church and St. Charbel Shrine in Al Ghabat.

Fifty three male and female athletes participated, representing the following clubs and teams:

• Charité Club – Zouk
• Mazareeb and Aarasta Club
• Forsan Alazraa – Al Ghabat
• Forsan Alazraa – Mazareeb and Aarasta
• Independent participants

The participants were divided into 12 competitive heats.

The activity was held in the presence of the President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Dr. Pierre Jalakh, and the President of the Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation, Eng. Roukoz Zgheib, who gave a speech during the closing ceremony before the medal distribution, emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting and developing the sport.

The closing ceremony was opened by the Treasurer of the Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation and the event’s master of ceremonies, Mr. Bassam Cheiban, who thanked Mrs. Nohad Al Shami’s family, especially her sons Saad and Issam, for their full cooperation in making this meeting a success. He welcomed the attendees, including:

The ceremony began with a special poetry segment, followed by the Lebanese National Anthem, before starting the medal distribution, in which all attending personalities took part.
