Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation Organizes First International Level 1 Coaches Course in Lebanon

With the support of the Lebanese Olympic Committee through the Olympic Solidarity Fund, and under the auspices of the International Modern Pentathlon Federation, the Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation organized an International Level 1 Coaches Course from the 18th to the 22nd of this month, in a step that is being carried out for the first time on Lebanon.

The course opened with the Lebanese national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech by the President of the Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation, Engineer Roukoz Zgheib, in the presence of Vice President Mr. Ali Mcheik, Secretary General Ms. Nadia Nehmeh, Treasurer Mr. Bassam Cheiban, Accountant Mr. Kevork Altonian, as well as members Mr. Georges Maamari and Mr. Raed Hamieh. The President also thanked the President of Amchit Sporting Club, Mr. Ernest Sleiman, for hosting the course and attending the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Zgheib extended his thanks to the President, Secretary General, and members of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, praising their full support for this sporting activity and emphasizing that this course represents a fundamental pillar in the federation’s path toward development and modernization, as well as in raising the level of Lebanese coaches and athletes.

Zgheib also welcomed international coach Mr. Yasser Hefny, delegated by the International Modern Pentathlon Federation, who is overseeing the training and development of Lebanese coaches in accordance with the latest international standards, wishing all participants success in their coaching duties.

In closing, the Federation President extended special recognition to champions Marina Fenianos and Ahmad Shamas, as well as to the head of the delegation participating in the World Championships in South Africa, Mr. Ali Mcheik, highlighting the major achievement they accomplished and through which they raised Lebanon’s name high in international forums.
