The Lebanese Modern Pentathlon Federation is committed to promoting safe and inclusive participation in all UIPM sports, including Modern Pentathlon, Tetrathlon, Triathle, Biathle, and Laser Run. Each of these dynamic multi-discipline events—ranging from fencing, swimming, and equestrian show jumping to laser pistol shooting and running—offers athletes a unique opportunity to challenge their physical and mental skills in a safe, supportive environment. In line with international standards, we prioritize athlete well-being, proper training, and risk management to ensure the highest levels of safety across all competitions and training sessions. Through continuous education and collaboration, we strive to uphold the values of fair play, discipline, and respect in every aspect of UIPM sport.
The Below is an overview of each UIPM sport we offer—now featuring Obstacle Discipline in place of equestrian, as part of the sport’s modernization:

Modern Pentathlon (with Obstacle Discipline)
Modern Pentathlon is a five-discipline event that includes:
1. Fencing – Athletes compete in épée duels, scoring touches in fast-paced, one-touch bouts.
2. Swimming – A 200m freestyle race, testing speed and technique in the pool.
3. Obstacle Discipline – Replacing equestrian, this modern challenge includes a course of physical obstacles, requiring strength, coordination, and agility to complete.
4. Shooting (laser pistol)
5. Running – A combination of running and laser pistol shooting, where athletes alternate between 600–800m runs and precision shooting at targets.

Tetrathlon
Tetrathlon features four disciplines:
1. Fencing
2. Swimming
3. Shooting (laser pistol)
4. Running

Triathle
Triathle combines:
1. Shooting (laser pistol)
2. Swimming
3. Running
Athletes repeat sequences of these three events, focusing on transitions, endurance, and accuracy in a fast-paced race format.

Biathle
Biathle consists of:
1. Running
2. Swimming
3. Running (again)
This continuous event challenges athletes’ stamina and speed and is often held in open water or outdoor tracks, providing an exciting and accessible format for athletes of all ages.

Laser Run
Laser Run is the most accessible and widely practiced UIPM sport. It involves alternating between:
1. Running (600m)
It’s dynamic, safe, and spectator-friendly, making it ideal for schools, youth programs, and new athletes.
2. Laser Shooting (5 hits on a target within a time limit)
